The 2026 edition of the Triple Stelvio introduces new assistance services powered by Italy Bike Tour. Participating means accepting an extreme challenge against oneself, in full respect of the mountain and other athletes.
Participation and Challenges Protocol
Three sides, one rulebook. Identify your goal for June 30, 2026, and sign the technical rules for the ascent to King Stelvio.
ART. 1 – Non-competitive challenge
Triple Stelvio is a non-competitive challenge held on the Stelvio Pass, which involves cycling the three sides in a single day.
The ride takes place independently, with a defined but unmarked route and on roads open to traffic.
ART. 2 – ROUTE
Triple Stelvio:
- Bormio – Stelvio Pass;
- Prato – Stelvio Pass;
- Santa Maria – Stelvio Pass.
Each participant can choose how many climbs to perform according to their preparation. In any case, it will be possible to change your choice at any time, even during the challenge itself. Everyone will be provided with the GPS file containing the route track and the indications of the stopping points in both Prato and Santa Maria.
ART. 3 – MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
To participate in the event, a medical certificate is required.
For cyclists residing in Italy:
- for athletes registered with FCI or Sports Promotion Entities: medical certificate for competitive cycling (certificates for other types of sports such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. are not valid) DOWNLOAD THE FORM
- for subjects of Italian residence but not registered with FCI or Sports Promotion Entities: certificate of suitability for sports activities with particularly high cardiovascular commitment (as per D.M. of 24.04.2013) DOWNLOAD THE FORM
For foreign cyclists or non-residents in Italy:
- for subjects of foreign residence: certificate of suitability for participation in competitive cycling races also issued by a doctor in their country of residence – as per the downloadable form (or equivalent). DOWNLOAD THE FORM
ART. 4 – TIMES, ASSISTANCE AND FEED ZONES
MEETING POINT FOR Triple Stelvio: June 30, 2026 at 2:45 am in Bormio (SO).
Start at 03:15 am from Bormio (SO).
MAXIMUM TIME TO FINISH THE CHALLENGE: by 2:30 pm at the Stelvio Pass.
Feed Zones:
FIRST Feed Zone:
from 5:00 am to 6:00 am (at the Stelvio Pass). Use bag 1 to change clothes (dry and winter clothing is necessary) to descend towards Prato.
SECOND Feed Zone:
from 6:30 am to 8:30 am (in Prato allo Stelvio). Leave your winter clothes, used for the descent, with our staff; they will be put in your backpack 3 and brought to the Stelvio for your final descent to Bormio.
THIRD Feed Zone:
from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (at the Stelvio Pass). Use backpack 2 to change (dry and winter clothes are necessary) to descend to Santa Maria.
FOURTH Feed Zone:
from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm (in Santa Maria). Leave all your clothes with the staff; they will be returned to you in Bormio from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
FIFTH Feed Zone:
from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (at the Stelvio Pass). This is the finish line where you will find the finisher t-shirt, pizza and pasta party, and photographs. Use backpack 3 to change and descend independently towards Bormio (dry and winter clothes are necessary).
HOW TO ORGANIZE DROP BAGS (1, 2 and 3):
Keep in mind that you should have at least 2 winter kits for changing: ONE when you descend from Stelvio to Prato (bag 1) and the other from Stelvio to Santa Maria (bag 2). For the third descent (bag 3), the staff will return the clothes used in the first descent towards Prato. We recommend always having a change of base layer, jersey, and socks to handle all descents.
ART. 5 – SAFETY AND RESPECT FOR THE HIGHWAY CODE
Triple Stelvio is a non-competitive night challenge that takes place on roads open to traffic and on roads where there is no artificial lighting. All participants must follow the Highway Code rules for bicycles.
- Wear a helmet;
- Be equipped with visual signaling devices;
- Outside urban centers from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise and in tunnels, the obligation to wear a reflective jacket or suspenders;
- On carriage roads, arrange yourselves in lines of at most two people side by side.
WARNING:
the temperature can vary from below zero to 20 degrees. In the event of snow, the event will be canceled and we will suggest an alternative route if possible. To keep with you: outdoor clothing, mobile phone, water, food, staff number. Mandatory repair kit, lights and inner tubes (use of organization inner tube: € 5).
ART. 6 – CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES
Recommended: 2 winter jackets; 2 leg warmers; 2 arm warmers; 2 winter headgears; 2 winter gloves; 2 shoe covers; 2 neck warmers; 3 base layers; 3 jerseys; 3 socks; 3 shorts; 1 windproof/waterproof jacket always with you.
ART. 7 – REGISTRATION
The Early Booking fee of € 250 (valid until Feb 28, then € 280) includes:
- 2 cars with 12-hour non-stop mechanical assistance;
- 3 drop bag delivery services;
- 6 feed zones;
- final lunch at the top of the Stelvio;
- Triple Stelvio t-shirt and jersey;
- 2 guides with the group for the first climb;
- breakfast at Terrazza Perego at 5:15 and exclusive warm room reserved.
ART. 8 – EVENT DATE
The date is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The Organization reserves the right to move the date to July 1 or 2 depending on the weather. It is recommended to be in Bormio from June 27 at 6:00 pm for the briefing. Anyone unable to show up will do so knowing the risk of losing the event without a refund.
ART. 9 – SUBSTITUTION OR CANCELLATION
Participant Cancellation: No refunds provided. In case of a medical emergency, registration will be deferred to the next edition.
Athlete Substitution: Permitted until March 30, 2026 (standard administrative fee of € 50).
Force Majeure: In case of cancellation due to force majeure, the organization reserves the right to retain the entry fees.
Minimum Participants: The event will be cancelled if the minimum quorum of 30 participants is not reached. Notification will be provided 60 days before the event.
The organization reserves the right to modify the current rules and regulations.
